How Wagering Requirements Work — A Plain-English Guide

The clearest explanation we can write of why bonus money is not cash yet — with the arithmetic done for you.

The short version

A bonus isn't cash. It's cash you have to play through first.

Take a R500 bonus with 20× wagering and you need to place R10 000 in total bets before the balance becomes money you can withdraw. That is not R10 000 out of your pocket — it's the same money going round, bet after bet.

Worked through properly

Say you deposit R500 and take the 100% match. You now have R1 000 to play with: R500 yours, R500 bonus.

The R500 bonus carries 20× wagering, so R10 000 of total bets.

At R5 a spin, that's 2 000 spins. It sounds enormous. But you're not losing R5 a spin — most spins return something, so the same balance recycles many times over. Players typically clear it in a few sessions, or not at all if the balance runs out first. Both happen.

Every limit that applies

The two that catch people out

Maximum bet, R20. While a bonus is active, keep bets at R20 or below. Go above it and the spin may not count toward wagering — and in some cases can void the bonus. There's no upside to betting bigger during wagering.

The 5× win cap. Winnings from a match bonus are capped at five times the bonus. A R500 bonus can produce at most R2 500 of withdrawable winnings, however the session goes.

We put this in bold because most operators bury it. If a bonus turns into a very large win, the cap applies — and you should know that before you deposit, not when you try to withdraw.

Seven days

Bonus funds expire a week after they're granted. Not wagered in that time and they're gone, along with anything won from them. If a week of play isn't realistic for you, declining the bonus and playing with your own money is a perfectly sensible choice — your cash has no wagering, no cap and no expiry.

Should you take a bonus at all?

Genuinely depends.

Take it if you were going to play anyway, at modest stakes, over the next few days. More playing time for the same money.

Skip it if you want to deposit, play briefly and withdraw. The wagering will get in the way, and your own funds come out whenever you like.

There's no penalty for declining, and no advantage to us in you taking one you don't want.
